Are You Letting One Little Thing Drag You Down?

What are you using as your excuse not to feel good? Are you letting one little thing drag you down?

As you may already know, I am a proponent of the Law of Attraction, and a lot of what I write about deals with the importance of raising your vibration and how positive energy attracts positive results.

Many people know this, and they understand the Law of Attraction. They know they have to feel good in order to get good results.  However, many people still prevent themselves from feeling good because they focus heavily on the one thing they don’t have.

Often, there are 99 things going well to great in a person’s life, but there’s one or two things that they really want that they don’t have yet. Maybe it’s a boyfriend or girlfriend, maybe it’s a house, a baby or a pile of money. Maybe it’s good friendships, or maybe it’s good health.  Whatever “it” is, it feels very, very big and very, very absent.

Now, if this is you, you have a choice in how you are going to focus.

Are you going to focus on the 99 things that are going well to great in your life, or are you going to focus on the one or two things you don’t have yet? Are you going to allow yourself to feel good about what’s working in your life, or are you going to feel crummy about the few things you are lacking?

I mention this because I see many people wallow in darkness because of one or two little things.  There are hundreds of reasons to be positive and feel good about life, but when we are only focused on what we don’t have we can’t access those good feelings.

So if you’ve been feeling obsessed about the one thing you don’t have, do yourself a favor. Try to turn away from it for a while.  Give more attention to the 99 things that are going in your favor.  Allow what is going well in your life to raise your vibration and make you feel better.

Let your good feelings about the 99 things train you into greater happiness and optimism.  Don’t let one little thing drag you down.

After all, you’re never going to get that thing you want if you don’t feel good, so you might as well find a reason to lift your spirits. Good feelings translate, and feeling positive about 99 things CAN make you feel more optimistic about the one or two you don’t feel so hot about right now.

You’ve got lots of things to be happy and grateful for. Let them bring more happiness and gratitude into your life. Your life will be more fulfilling, and you’ll get more of those things you want-guaranteed.

XO, Andrea

    Hi Andrea,
I read your article and one question raised in my mind. If we focus on 99 things ,the other “one or two things” can happen. Shifting focus on something better can make things happen.
But what to do when you can’t pass a single day without thinking those “one or two things”? Focusing on 99 things become hard and tough when those ” one or two things ” really matter to us.

    Hi Jayati

That’s a great question. You are right…they WILL pop up, even if you don’t want them to! The good news is that if you can find a way to pay less attention to these thoughts, it will get easier to distract yourself from thinking about how you don’t have them.

Try this: next time the subject pops up and you feel the worry coming on, take a deep breath and tell yourself “I don’t have to think about this right now. I’ll figure this out later when the energy is right.” Then, instead of dwelling on the issue, pick a different topic to think about, talk about or act on.

Keep repeating this process and you will find that the negative momentum slows and you become less inclined to think negatively about the topic at hand.

Above mentioned tip sounds very helpful! I will try this and let you know in few days.
I had an idea for you .why don’t you start a YouTube channel for this.
You can ask people to raise some questions and you pick top five and answer them in a video.
That would be very helpful for everyone and for your blog.

Thanks for this article, I enjoyed reading it. I lost my partner to suicide last year and while I try to think of the many great things I do have in my life and I am grateful for them, it is hard to categorise this loss as one “little” thing. It will take some time of sadness and grieving to accept this. I sure do miss him hugely. Any helpful ways of looking at this would be welcome. Thanks.

This is a really burning pain and I think you have cracked it. So many comments as well. I think if you did a course on this (just this) we would pay

This problem has been bothering me. I keep asking why am I sad over these 2 things. I should be happy. But it’s not that easy. My mind is so used to being sad it is sad. It has forgotten how to be happy. What works for me? Past few days just questioning why am I not happy when i should be just has this super effect and reverses the darkness.

Like I’m sad because of money
But people who have money are also sad
    So why am I unhappy?
So I should be happy now as money is not going to make me happy
And when problem is resolved instantly another problem is there so one has to be happy with problems otherwise they will always be sad

So I guess it’s all belief?
That I should be happy now!
    Not later!
And every day new problems/challenges will come

Thanks Wendy- I see your point. As the pain subsides, it will feel like less of a big thing. This is why they say “time heals all wounds.” Over time, these big things become less and less relevant until the point where they are no longer painful. Just try your best not to dwell, but don’t beat up on yourself if you are sad. With painful events, a simple switch of focus might not be exactly what you need right now.

I wrote an article on dealing with pain you might appreciate…here’s the link: https://raiseyourvibrationtoday.com/2015/08/06/embrace-your-pain-to-raise-your-vibration/

Good questions IK! You are hitting on something very important: It ISN’T the manifestation that make us happy or sad, but rather it’s how we choose to look at reality.

In each moment, we can choose to focus on the positive aspects or the negative ones, we can choose to soothe and uplift ourselves or to aggravate or upset ourselves. Happiness is in the journey, not the destination, and how we choose to perceive along our journey is what makes the difference 🙂

Hi IK- sometimes trying something new can help. For example, find a new activity you’d like to try and give it a go. This can help you switch up your focus by giving you something new to pay attention to <3
