The beauty of a smile
“The beauty of a smile” was written by guest contributor, Babajide Faseyi.
I smile at people as I walk past them. Even more, I smile at the ones who don’t look as if they’ll smile back. I try to make sure it’s not a fake smile, but sometimes, I deliver a weak smile as I can’t always keep it up. And sometimes I don’t even smile at all, because in all honesty, I don’t always feel like it.
It is easy to tell that a smile has positive energy in it because of the way a genuine smile levied at you makes you feel. Even when you don’t know the person, a stranger who deliberately smiles at you has an effect on you. So a smile is a tangible thing.
Just now I was at the post office, and I teased an old lady for cutting in front of me in line as we both approached the line at the same time. She thought she had forgot her mailbox key at home, but in the course of our talking, smiling and laughing; she found the keys in her bag and so she no longer needed to be in line!
When I went up to the mail clerk, I saw her name badge so as I was leaving I said: “You have a nice day Tammy!” She said: “Thank you, you too!!”
Her eyebrows lifted in mild surprise at the mention of her name and her face lit up with a bright glow as she gave me a gorgeous smile right back.

About the Author: My name is Babajide Faseyi. I was born and raised in Nigeria and then moved to the United States for college at the age of 19. In my 20’s, I became acutely aware that there was more to life than I had been taught and this led me to a deep search. I read voraciously. After a period of disillusionment with not having an outlet for the creativity that I felt within myself, I encountered Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now. And thus, the journey of knowing who I truly am and the discovery of what I have to offer creatively began. I began my journey with the LOA as an opiate addict and a bulimic. Through learning how to consciously apply the LOA my life has become a waking dream-healthy, fulfilling and prosperous. It is my joy to pass this knowledge along to you.
