5 Signs You’re Trying Too Hard With the Law of Attraction

When it comes to the Law of Attraction, “trying too hard” is the primary issue that prevents people from manifesting their desires. Fortunately, there are many signs you’re trying too hard that can guide you away from doing this, if you know about them!

Now, the idea of “going with the flow” often flies in the face of conventional wisdom out there in the muggle world.

Many of us grow up in homes and communities where hard work and effort are much more highly prized over relaxation and allowing. This makes working hard a tough habit for many conscious creators to break, at least initially!

So, to make it a little easier on you, here are a 5 signs you’re just trying too hard with the Law of Attraction. If you find yourself focused on your goal, and any one of these signs pops up, it is a definite sign you are currently trying too hard.

In other words, when any of these signs pop up, remind yourself to relax! Creation is always easy, so when these issues surface do whatever you can to dial back the intensity and go easier.

1. Feeling negative emotion (i.e., frustration, uneasiness, anxiety, etc)

Frustration, for me, is usually the easiest one to identify. If I’m working on something or thinking about something I want and I can tell I’m getting overwhelmed and frustrated I immediately stop.

Negative emotions are lower vibrational emotions, meaning when you feel them, you are being guided to “stop.” Remember, bad feelings always mean “stop!”

2. Tight muscles

Here’s another one. Perhaps you are sitting at your desk working and you feel your neck cramp up. Or perhaps you’ve been working out trying to get your dream body and you notice your flexibility is getting worse, not better.

The body becomes tense when the mind is tense. So any tightening of the muscles is a great sign to slow it down and take it easy.

3. Physical Pain

Similar to tight muscles, physical pain is another sign from the body that you are trying too hard with the Law of Attraction.

Talking about your goal with a friend and you notice your back pain is flaring up? It’s a good idea to relax on that subject.

Doing a visualization and feel a headache coming on? You’re trying too hard, take a break. Put that visualization on the back burner for another time.

4. Illness

Illness is also a good sign you are trying too hard, particularly if it comes on as a result of work you are doing toward your goal.

Perhaps you’ve been in the situation before where you’re “burning the midnight oil” and you suddenly get a cold or flu that incapacitates you and keeps you from working.

Sometimes the body will put the hammer down on you when you try too hard, and it often does this in the form of illness!

So, if you suddenly find yourself taking a dreaded day off of work, or in bed unable to attend to your goals, heed your body’s advice! The work you are doing is not taking you to desired results, so it’s time to relax.

Progress is made when you are in the flow, not when you are cracking the whip over yourself.

5. A steady stream of problems related to your goal

Here’s another sign you’re simply trying too hard: problem, after problem, after problem!

Sometimes we want to do something or have something that we keep trying even though the universe is trying to show us we are totally going in the wrong direction.

So, for instance, perhaps I was trying to start my dream business, but hassle after hassle after hassle kept emerging.

Conventional wisdom might tell me to just “try harder.” But as I know now, the Law of Attraction is letting me know in real time that I am attacking my goal with a great deal of resistance.

Success is always easy.

This is worth repeating again: SUCCESS IS ALWAYS EASY.

The hard part people often glorify is all of the resistance we put up with before we finally let go and relax into our success. So all of that “hard work” is really just delaying our success, not enhancing it.

So if you are seeing problem after problem, it’s just a sign you’re attacking your goal rather then letting your goal come to you. Take it easy!

    How did you know?!
    I have most of these..stressing, thinking too much, worrying too much, fristration after frustration and getting ill to boot. I thought I was going with the flow but realized, nope.
    I dont need to worry, it will sort itself out, it always does. I need to get out of my own way again!

    Hi Andrea, this is a good article and one I’ve often considered – but – what about the other opinions of “you can manifest anything you want”? Just keep believing, keep going along, look for signs etc etc. these are two opposites and it has caused me hours of deliberate thought with no conclusions. It’s the same as The Universe knows what’s best for us – but – if we manifest our desire, which we want. it’s opposite ideas. Directions.

    I don’t know how to stop the negative thoughts. Holidays bring emotional turmoil. Have a cold I can’t throw and thinking everyone hates me. I know this is my own mind games but losing my inner strength. Really need my vibrations elevated.!
