A comforting line from the Tao Te Ching

“A comforting line from the Tao Te Ching” was written by guest contributor, Babajide Faseyi.

The other day I was looking through the Tao Te Ching, which is regarded as a profound book, and I saw this line: “If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.” And right then I became more aware that I could be much more at ease.

I became even more aware that what I truly need for my journey through life right now, I am fortunate to already have right now. And I saw that there was a whole lot more ease that I could allow myself to rest into from that comfort and reassurance.

It came to me in that moment that most of what causes me to not be 100% at ease is because I think I really need something that isn’t available to me right now, or at least, isn’t within the reach of an accessible distance away, or a phone call or a message away.

On reading that, it was like any why, what or when questions that were floating around in me were completely dissolved. And I became more embracing of my life as it is right now, in just the way that it is right now.

Thoughts of “I want to live in a nicer place” and “When I am going to get some more money” and “When am I going to complete my project” – All these thoughts and more were dissolved and my whole body became filled with joy and passion and gratitude for my life in just the way that it is right now.

Blessings, Babajide

About the Author: My name is Babajide Faseyi.  I was born and raised in Nigeria and then moved to the United States for college at the age of 19.  In my 20’s, I became acutely aware that there was more to life than I had been taught and this led me to a deep search.  I read voraciously.  After a period of disillusionment with not having an outlet for the creativity that I felt within myself, I encountered Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now.  And thus, the journey of knowing who I truly am and the discovery of what I have to offer creatively began.  The links to my facebook pages where my writings are posted are –facebook.com/bababajide and facebook.com/babajideinc.
