How You Feel.. Matters

“How You Feel…Matters” was written and recorded by guest contributor, Samuel Kronen.

How we feel inside matters. How we feel contains cosmic significance. How we feel is of profound importance.

What I mean to say is, the quality of our inner state, how we feel about ourselves, means something. It means something.

It is more than just a matter of self-satisfaction or fulfillment, not that there is anything particularly wrong with that. How we feel inside extends beyond our personal disposition and emanates outwardly into the world.

In essence, how we feel inwardly impacts our relationship with the outer world.

A simple idea, but a profound one

I know this is nothing that revolutionary or new, but I feel as though this is something that need be constantly reaffirmed and remembered for we so often lose sight of it.

We forge that how we feel matters. We think that the world is so big and full of problems that our pesky little selves can do nothing about it. We feel at times that we couldn’t possibly make the world any better because we are so absolutely miniscule and inconsequential.

I’ve personally fallen into patterns where I’ve thought and felt this way, where i’ve lost sight of the fact that my consciousness is integral to the world at large and contains societal implications, and I’ll tell you that the results are fairly sad and dejecting.

Much of my life has been spent living under the illusion that I am an individual, that I live on my own plane and have few ties to the chaotic society in which I reside (let alone the chaotic universe in which I reside). It seems to me as though most people feel this way, and perhaps this has a great deal to do with why the world is so messy and muddled right now.

Everything is connected

The truth is, as far as I can discern, that everything is connected. Not in some woo woo mystical way (though maybe that too) but in a very practical way. Everything is connected in the sense that everything exists in relation to everything else. For example, say I have a nice conversation with someone and they feel a little better about the world and themselves, and then they go onto be kind to other people they interact with which makes someone else feel a bit more optimistic and motivated, so on and so forth…

How we feel matters because it predicates how we move through the world, and how we move through the world affects how others feel and move through the world. It goes on like this for eternity.

What I try to do is bring my attention to my inner state rather that focus purely on having an impact outwardly, and I get the sense that in doing this I am actually putting myself in a better position to elicit positive change in the world than if I placed all of my energy on the external.

We in exist in a kind of experiential web, a vast interface wherein everything is linked, wherein everything moves in accordance with everything else. Because of this, how we feel inside, our relationship with ourselves, the quality of our inner state, is deeply consequential and ever-extensive.

A valuable lesson

It’s been valuable in my own life to recognize that how I feel matters, for through this recognition I predispose myself to helping others. I know that it’s only when I’m in a good place emotionally that I can make others feel good, that I am in a position to heal and express love. If I try to have an affect on the world and neglect my inner state then I plunge into patterns of malaise and despair. I get cold and lonely. I become tired and resentful, and here I can only further contribute to the craziness that encompasses our world.

How we feel matters, for when we feel good, harmonious, connected, then we induce those same qualities outwardly. What we are, we express, which is to say how we feel within is expressed without.

Isn’t there enough Bullsh*t in the world? Isn’t the world crazy enough as it is!? Let us add to it no further. Let’s give nothing more to lunacy, and this seems to only be possible by fundamentally addressing the undercurrents of our own state of being. When we look at ourselves, bring our attention to the quality of our hearts and minds, then we move towards sanity and health, we move towards feeling good.
