Now Is All That I Have
“Now Is All That I Have” was written by guest contributor, Babajide Faseyi.
I will never again be the same age as I am right now. And I will never experience the depth and the breadth of this moment in all of its uniqueness and newness, ever again.
As I look at the skin on my hands right now, I am reminded of the truth of transience. I am reminded that everything alive is subject to the law of impermanence, and that I am aging gracefully.
This points out to me even further the importance of enjoying my life while I have my life. And where is the place that I enjoy my life? The place that I enjoy my life is now. Enjoyment is experienced as a present moment thing.
Sometimes I become preoccupied with the future and I allow it cover over the beauty of what is happening in the present. And sometimes I allow the shadows of the past of which I can never get back, to cover over the riches that are available for me in my present.
But in the moments when I take a step back, and I allow myself to look carefully and with a calm mind, I can find the inspiration and the lesson contained in any of the moments of my life alike, no matter what the contents of them may be.
Blessings,
Babjide

About the Author: My name is Babajide Faseyi. I was born and raised in Nigeria and then moved to the United States for college at the age of 19. In my 20’s, I became acutely aware that there was more to life than I had been taught and this led me to a deep search. I read voraciously. After a period of disillusionment with not having an outlet for the creativity that I felt within myself, I encountered Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now. And thus, the journey of knowing who I truly am and the discovery of what I have to offer creatively began.
