8 Ways to Pull Yourself Out of a Funk and Improve Your Mood
We all have days that we feel down and depressed. When we are in this state, it can be hard to stay positive.
It’s easy to get trapped in lower vibrational energy, but there are a few easy tricks you can use to pull yourself out of a funk. Next time you’re feeling down, try a few of them out!
Activities to Pull Yourself Out of a Funk:
1. Use motion to improve your mood:
Motion is a higher vibrational state than sitting or lying down is. This is one of the reasons why roller coasters and skateboarding can be so much fun. If you’re feeling down, do something that involves motion to improve your mood. You can go for a drive, go bike riding, or even go roller skating. The faster the momentum, the higher your vibration will go.
2. Put yourself together:
When we are down and depressed, we tend to stay in our pajamas all day, not do our hair or makeup, and generally just let ourselves go. When you want to pull yourself out of a funk, find your best outfit, and put yourself together the best that you can. The confidence that you will feel from looking your best will help boost your vibrational energy.
3. Clean your home:
Cleaning the house is great way to pull yourself out of a funk. Our surroundings often mirror what’s going on inside of us, and when we are in a bad place we are much more likely to leave the dishes, the toilet scrubbing and the vacuuming for another day. Instead of allowing this to happen, get up and tidy up your home. You will feel accomplished, and this emotion will help improve your vibrational energy.
4. Watch a funny movie:
This one is great for when you are feeling especially down, because you can do it while staying in bed, which is what most of us like to do when we are depressed. Any movie that can make you smile or laugh will help to improve your mood.
When you are finished with the movie, try not to stay in bed. Instead, use the improvement in your energy to carry you into another activity on this list to keep pulling yourself up higher.
5. Listen to upbeat music:
Beware of angry or depressing music when you are trying to pull yourself out of a funk. It is very easy to be seduced into listening to this type of music when you are down because you are already in the vibrational resonance of it. Instead, put on some upbeat or happy music to elevate your vibrational energy.
6. Exercise when you’re down and depressed:
Most people have heard that exercise is great for releasing endorphins (natural drugs in your body that make you feel good). When you’re down and depressed, get out and take a walk, go for a jog or hit the gym.
7. Meditate:
Meditation is awesome for aligning you with the high vibrational energy of the universe. Sit or lie down for fifteen minutes, close your eyes, and concentrate only on your breathing. This action will help you feel more clarity and peace. For a few more meditation options check out this video on my member website.
8. Give long hugs:
Hugs release the hormone/neurotransmitter oxytocin, which makes you feel good. Give your partner, your friends or your kids a nice long hug to get a boost from the oxytocin.

Hi Jean! Sounds like you are in a rough spot. I wrote another article geared more towards people who are feeling especially low, perhaps you would find it useful so I’ve pasted it below. I really hope you find the information that helps you get where you would like to be. Wishing you the very best-Andrea

Thanks for these tips Andrea Schulman! Somehow all of these are already part of my habitude. And regarding hugging, i have 7 pet dogs and 14 feline friends here at home to hug anytime, and they sure lift my vibes and mood constantly and persistently. And i also sing my heart out a lot being a music lover!. LOA is truly a n integral part of my daily thriving. Consequently, my mood, health finances and happiness are above par to the average folk who is oblivious to the universal law of attraction, 🙂

Great article! I also use a light box during the late fall and winter months to help with Seasonal Affective Disorder. It’s just another helpful tool to battle the monster of depression and it really works for me.
