The Law of Attraction: How to Transform Negative Thoughts (Fast!)

Do you know how to transform negative thoughts that stick around despite your best efforts to ignore them?

Often this is something students of the Law of Attraction struggle with!

For example, you might be having a good day, but all of the sudden you hear about an illness that’s going around. Your immediate thoughts become laced with fear.

  • “I hope I don’t get it!”
  • “It seems like EVERYONE is getting it!”
  • “It sounds just awful!”

Then, shortly after the initial worry, a new concern altogether pops up:

  • “I don’t want to think this thought!”
  • “I don’t want to create this in my reality!”

This new train of thought is then frequently followed by desperate attempts to ignore or push the worry about the illness out of your consciousness.

Now, if you catch negative thoughts early, distraction like this can be a very useful tool. However, if you find yourself dwelling too long on a negative thought, it might not go away so easily.

So, what do you do when negative thoughts haunt you and won’t go away?

Face these negative thoughts head on!

Now, I know this flies in the face of conventional Law of Attraction wisdom. Aren’t we supposed to turn away from fearful thoughts?

The answer is a resounding YES. However, if the thought just can’t be turned away from, it’s often easier and much more effective to face the fear directly in order to neutralize it.

After all, the only reason why a negative thought will stick around is because you have an emotional charge attached to it. If you can neutralize the emotional charge, you will find yourself much more able to drop the thought.

As you probably already know, we only hold on to fears because they are fearful.

Take the fear out of the thought, and it becomes no more important than any other random thought that crosses your mind.

Here’s how this works:

Expose the worst case scenario & create a solution for it.

When we identify the worst case scenario, we give ourselves an opportunity to discover how we would handle it. Our belief in our ability to handle the potential problem will boost our confidence, neutralizing our fear at the same time.

For example, let’s say that in a day or two I really need to sit down and do my bills for the month. I feel the fear coming on and this negative thought starts to nag me:

  • “Will I have enough money this month?”

I try to ignore this negative thought, but it just won’t go away.

So, instead of ignoring the fear, I tackle it head on:

  • “Ok, so what’s the worst case scenario?”

I respond to myself I believe the worst it could be is that I am $500 behind on my bills this month.

So, if this $500 problem manifests, what could I do? How might I handle this worst case scenario if it comes through to fruition?

I run down the list of options I could use to tackle the issue & solve this (hypothetical) problem.

Possible solutions:

  1. I could take money out of savings or other investments I have.
  2. I could sell a few old things I don’t use anymore on eBay.
  3. I could ask family or friends for a loan.
  4. I could do a cash withdrawal on my credit card.
  5. I could call the companies I owe money to to negotiate down my debt.
  6. I could transfer one old credit card balance to a new credit card so I didn’t have to pay it this month.
  7. I could ask for an extension.
  8. I could ask for a payday advance.
  9. I could have a garage sale.
  10. I could offer to babysit or provide a paid service I knew someone needed.
  11. Etc., etc., etc.

Whatever I can think of that would help me remedy this worst case scenario I list out until I find something that feels like a good and reliable solution.

Reliable solutions neutralize fear.

Now that I have brainstormed how I would handle this event, I’m no longer fearful. I’ve just reminded myself I have the resources and the ability to tackle anything the universe throws at me.

If the worst happens, I’m prepared for action, and this gives me peace of mind. Now that i have peace of mind with the worst case scenario, it can no longer haunt me with fear.

I feel better, and my vibration is clearer. Now I am in a better place to handle what life throws at me. I can move on with my day and think about something else now.

From worst-case scenario to best-case scenario!

This strategy works brilliantly for me in all kinds of situations. As soon as I have made peace with the worst case-scenario, I often am presented with evidence to let me know there was nothing to fear at all. In fact, I am frequently presented with the best-case scenario manifestation instead!

AMAZING ARTICLE!!!! (Expect a lot of comments I am devoting my night to catching up!)

My favorite headline (& I put a pic of it on snapchat); EXPOSE THE WORST CASE SCENARIO & CREATE A SOLUTION FOR IT

No matter what it is — as long as you arent going to literally die or go through something DETERIMENTAL its really not worth stressing. There always infinite opportunities for better things to happen.

A few ways for me to turn negative to positive REAL quick is quickly make a gratitude list in my head like immediately. I stubbed my toe F**K but I can still walk, I still have all my fingers and my sight. I recently had to pay $1000 to court and the old me would cry about that — I was actually so thankful I had more than enough to pay it right away. I AM NOT RICH but money is a fun game to manifest with!

Another quick tip that works for me is eliminating limiting beliefs. That I have become SOOO good at just because so many unexplained “miracles” have happened to me before and I am also super imaginative … so when people say the cold is going around — thats fine if they believe it is but I am immune to that. Whether or not I TRULY am is up for your interpretation but I rarely ever get sick. THANKFULLY!!!

Lastly, what works for me, is that I am a huuuuge believer in the LOA so I know these negative thoughts while sometimes inevitable they are NOT self serving so I have instinctively chosen to not feed them when they arrive.

Thanks for an amazing article as always! It is always great to self reflect in the comments for me. Love love love <3

Awesome Bobby, thanks so much for your feedback on this one! I especially like your idea of creating a gratitude list…that one sounds excellent for getting yourself into a higher perspective in a moment when we usually narrow down and become very “3d” LOL! Love it!

I also love what you said about getting sick, I too have had the same experience. Now, when people get sick I realize it’s up to ME if I take on the illness, so I just say “thanks I’m good on that” and keep it moving:) Amazing stuff.

Yes for example; I am a big runner and I have people (whom all just so happen to be very out of shape if that gives you any insight on why they might be trying to discourage me) tell me I am doing damage to my body and I disagree. That’s a limitation right there.

Another prime example — I went vegetarian over 5 years ago, and vegan about 8 months ago and I have never taken supplements yet I have more energy than anyone else I know (and I am not a very big caffeine person either) yet thats one thing people always bring up.

    Our reality is our’s. 🙂

Exactly Bobby-what matters is finding what’s “in alignment” for you, right? Taking actions that feel inspired are always the right actions, regardless of how others choose to interpret them <3
