Having a Magical Life Is EASY, Not Hard!
Is having a magical life supposed to be difficult? NO!! Having a magical life is easy.
Don’t believe me?
If you don’t, it’s not too surprising. After all, how many times have you heard someone say something to the tune of “life is hard?”
If you tell people life can be easy, many will disagree with you. They’ll point to their bad childhoods, or the disease a loved one is struggling with. They’ll talk about global poverty, war and natural disasters. They’ll be sure to show you all the many ways that life can be hard.
Of course, I see these things too. I understand that life can be hard. But that’s not the premise of this article.
Perhaps life can be hard, but having a magical life is easy. Having a magical life is never hard; it is always easy.
Why is a magical life easy?
When we take it easy, we step into our magical life and we allow life to flow through us. When we make things harder than they have to be, we don’t tune into the magic, and this causes us to feel overwhelmed, stressed, sad or upset.
Think about it: does a bird struggle to fly? Does a plant struggle to grow? Does your dog worry about whether or not the rent will be paid this month?
If you look around at life in general, you’ll find that we humans appear to be the only creatures who worry, stress and complain. We appear to be the only creatures on Earth who make things harder on ourselves than they have to be.
Why do humans make things hard on themselves?
Compared to other creatures, we are intellectually powerful, and perhaps this is the problem. As they say, with great power comes great responsibility.
Our intelligence is a powerful thing, but when we use it haphazardly it can cause us tremendous problems.
Our ability to evaluate and compare is a tremendous asset, but often we use it to feel badly about ourselves and this causes us to sabotage our happiness. In our ability to compare we often become highly critical, and this causes us to evaluate our lives negatively.

See life is moving easily and magically for the other creatures who lack our intellectual powers. They are born, they grow, and they follow their instincts. They thrive under crazy conditions we humans couldn’t even fathom, and they do it with ease.
Apparently, you don’t have to be smart to survive, or even to thrive!
So, although life can be hard, it certainly doesn’t have to be. We have the capacity to allow the magic to flow easily through us. Like all animals, we have the ability to thrive without struggle.
Blooming to your full potential
A flower doesn’t bloom because it has strategized and planned for the future. It doesn’t blossom because it worked hard and saved its pennies.
After all, do you imagine a flower would bloom very well if it made life hard on in itself?
What if the flower said to itself “I’m going to choose grow under a rock, because I know the harder I work the better things will work out for me?”
Do you think this flower would thrive better than the average flower?
Of course not, because that’s completely ridiculous. However, this is the logic many humans use when it comes to decision-making.
We often think things have to be hard, but this is completely untrue. Things can be very, very easy when we simply allow life to flow.
The evidence of easy magic…
If you look back on your life, I promise you’ll see that the magical moments were as easy as the bloom of a young flower. In the moments you’ve found yourself really thriving, you’ll always find that you simply allowed the magic to flow without questioning it and forcing it into place.
For example, have you ever found yourself in an ordinary moment, but been struck by just how magical it is? Have you ever been moved to tears by how beautiful your children are, or how lovely the sky looks? Do you ever stand in amazement by just how magnificent this world we live in is?
And in those moments, were you hustling? Were you worried about your retirement plan? Were you struggling to do things the right way?
No. You were just sitting or standing there, doing nothing else but observing the magic. You were taking it easy, and that allowed you to tap into something beautiful and special.
Life is beautiful!
See, life IS beautiful, and there is so much magic that exists in every single moment. We just happen to be creatures who often cut ourselves off from the magic. Instead of observing the perfection of what is, we criticize what isn’t. We analyze ourselves right out of our happiness.
Then, instead of being amazed by how beautiful our lives are and how powerful we as beings are, we feel weak, disempowered and disenfranchised. Instead of flowing through life in love and amazement, we trudge through our lives working hard and trying to make things work.
How many people do you imagine are missing all of the magic? How many people are missing the smiles, the kindness, the generosity, the abundance and the passion that is all around them? How many people take for granted all of the blessings that abound in their lives?
I said it before, and I’ll say it again: life can be hard, but having a magical life is easy. Period.
How to tap into the magic:
You have the ability to tap into the magic whenever you want, and you have the power to thrive in any condition. All you have to do is take it easy and appreciate where you are. That’s really all there is to it.
The path of a magical life is all about going along with your life in appreciation, and enjoying the ride. When we do this, wonderful things line up for us. We make better friendships, we have more fun at work, and we find our passions.
When we allow ourselves to get swept up in the magic, we simply float through life and we find that life can be very, very easy.
Flawed human “logic”
There is absolutely no logic in the idea that you can have a happy life when you spend all of your time criticizing where you are and trying to force things into place. You can’t travel through life worried, stressed and overworked and live a happy life at the same time.
Happiness, after all, isn’t a destination you reach when you get the job, find the perfect partner or retire. Happiness either exists in the present moment, or it doesn’t. You can never be happy in the future because you don’t live in the future. You live here in the present moment, and you’re either enjoying the magic now or you are not.
The problem is, many people don’t believe their lives are worth appreciating. They believe their lives are only magical if they are getting everything they want instantaneously. They believe they somehow can reach a state of static perfection, and they’re waiting to be happy until they get to this place that doesn’t exist.
They don’t understand that their minds are wired to compare and analyze, and therefore there will always be a way to make things better in their minds. They don’t realize that just because things can always be improved doesn’t mean that things aren’t already fabulous.
Then, because they don’t appreciate what they already have, they struggle. They work hard. They fight against perceived problems. They miss the magic entirely.
They may have a wonderful family, but they stress because they don’t like their job. They may have a wonderful job, but they stress because they are worried about getting a promotion. They may have plenty of money to live off of, but they worry because they don’t have as much as the next guy. They miss the magic that exists in the moment.
Is your life “good enough” or “not good enough?”
Often, people’s motto in life is “it’s just not good enough.” When your motto is that life isn’t good enough, will it ever matter how many blessings you have?
When we ignore the magic, and when we choose to view our lives as problematic or “not good enough,” we cut ourselves off from the magic. Instead of reveling in the good feeling of living, we put off our happiness for a day when we have more money, or we are thinner or we have found “the one.”
We don’t enjoy the magical journey of our lives, and this is what causes us to struggle. Not having something we want becomes our excuse to be sad or angry. We turn molehills into mountains. We let small issues that really don’t even matter that much to us cut us off from our one true goal: a happy, magical life.
Take it easy!
So if you want to experience a magical life, you’ve got to learn to take it easy. Allow your ordinary moments to be magical. Revel in the fun and the excitement in your life, and you’ll tap into the magic. It’s already there for you if you want it.
Stop trying to figure everything out, and stop trying to make things happen. Stop worrying about something you don’t have yet. Don’t wait for things to change before you allow yourself to tap into the magic. You can experience the magic right now, and you’ll be a lot happier for it.
Right now is a magical moment, and you can enjoy it with ease. You can stand exactly where you are and appreciate what is. You can revel in the beauty of your surroundings, and you can appreciate the people around you. You can feel grateful for the blessings in your life.
There will always be changes and improvements, and life will continue to evolve. Appreciate this moment for the perfection that it is, because it will be gone in a flash. A magical life is one that is lived in awe and appreciation for the moments, because each one is precious and unique.
You have a magical life. Allow it to bloom!
