4 Clear Signs You’re Worrying About Imaginary Problems

With the Law of Attraction, what we think about, we create in our reality. Therefore, if you’re worrying about imaginary problems, you are actually in the process of bringing them through to fruition!

Problems don’t exist until we create them. Therefore, worrying about imaginary problems is actually the only “real” problem any of us has. First you imagine them, then they appear.

So, are you worrying about imaginary problems? Here are a few clear signs to let you know for sure:

1. You are focused on the future more than the present.

Like it or not, the future is an unknown, because you haven’t created it yet!

You only live in the present. If you are in the habit of thinking in the future more than the present you are likely very often in the process of focusing on imaginary problems that “may” occur.

If you find that your thoughts are wandering to the future most of the time, make it your intention to get your head back in the present moment. The only problems you actually have are ones that are staring you directly in the face right now (not somewhere in the past or future). The vast majority of the time, there aren’t many of them and they aren’t life-threatening.

2. You try to protect yourself by taking extra safety precautions regularly.

Have you ever noticed how much society is focused on safety these days? It’s borderline OCD, if you ask me!

Make no mistake about it, the only thing that actually “protects” you from anything is your high vibrational frequency and your positive expectations. Being relaxed and going with the flow is the only guarantee of harmony in your life, regardless of what you may have been taught or seen on the news. Anything else we do to protect ourselves is just an attempt to control “what ifs.”

Of course, by all means wear your seatbelt and look both ways before crossing the street if this gives you a sense of peace inside. Feeling at peace is important, so do what you have to do to be relaxed about life. Again, a high vibrational frequency is your best protection, so do what you have to do to ensure it.

With that being said, though, if you find yourself hyper-focused on safety and precautionary issues, you are living in a state of fear. You are letting imaginary problems get in your head and run amuck. There’s a difference between doing something for peace of mind and doing something out of obsession and fear. Become aware of what this difference means to you.

You don’t need all the safety gadgets, gizmos and precautions. If anything, they are likely making you more of a target for unwanted events than you realize. Seriously!

3. Anxiety is an everyday event for you.

Anxiety results from worrying about things that haven’t happened yet. Repeat after me: If it hasn’t happened yet, it’s an imaginary problem.

If you can find a way to stop torturing yourself with what “may happen” you will find that anxiety drastically reduces in your life.

4. Your happiness is conditional on things going your way.

If you are only happy when the sun is shining and everyone is being really nice to you, you are spending WAY too much time worrying about imaginary problems.

Just because you get cut off in traffic doesn’t mean you will be late. It doesn’t mean the guy in front of you is an asshole and it doesn’t mean that you are going to have a horrible day.  Those are all imaginary problems created in our minds, nothing more.

Remember, your reality is simply a reflection of your inner state.

Be relaxed and go with the flow regardless of the conditions, and you can guarantee things will work out well for you. It’s really that simple.

Now, if it doesn’t feel that simple to you, you are reacting to your present reality by connecting it to future imaginary problems. Left to fester, these imaginary problems will ultimately manifest into real problems for you to deal with. Until, of course, you choose to break the cycle.

Remember, the only problems out there are the ones you are dealing with in the present moment. Everything else is an imaginary problem.

Let go of the imaginary problems, and realize that most everything going on right this moment is working out splendidly for you. Your heart is beating, the planets are still spinning and the world around you is providing you with plenty of support to do and have the things you need. Relax about the “what ifs,” because worrying about them is the only thing holding you back.

This post is so relevant and a bit of a relief. So glad I was able to read it today. What I find the real hard part about these imaginary problems to be, is that when I notice them, the real fear is knowing I’m having these unnessacary thoughts and being afraid that I will actually manifest them… But Is the awareness of these imaginary thoughts enough to stop your attraction to them?? How does one accept them and just move on?

Hi Joey! The more we dwell on the imaginary problems the more likely they will turn in to real issues. HOWEVER, I’ve found it’s helpful to remind myself that even if I create a “problem” for myself, I can just as easily create a “solution.” Understanding that all things are fundamentally neutral, and not necessarily “bad” or “good” can help. Whatever you can tell yourself to diffuse tension and let it be ok is what you want to do.

As for the awareness, I would say that it is a much better strategy to ignore the problems than to heighten your awareness of them. If you feel like you are dwelling in a negative place, switch your focus up. There’s no sense in focusing on or investigating your “imaginary problems” because it is the focus that brings them through to fruition. I hope this helps! <3 XO, Andrea
