3 Easy Steps to Feng Shui Toxic Relationships and Negativity
By Jennifer Nguyen, Guest Contributor
Happy Feng Shui Friday!!
Did you know that the people you surround yourself with could be giving you anxiety, stealing your energy and even causing you depression? Feng Shui is all about energy and energy in contagious! When we surround ourselves with negative people they don’t contribute to our life force energy.
Your life energy is precious and must be protected. Here are a few easy steps to Feng Shui your friends and create a group of healthy, positive people around you that motivate and believe in you!❤️
Step 1: Stay Grounded~
It’s important to note first that sometimes it’s us we need to Feng Shui and not our negative friendships. Before you go ditching all your friends make sure to take a look at your own attitude and helpfulness when it comes to your friendships.
Constant drama, lies, broken plans and promises are all justifiable reasons to cut the cord but keep in mind that sometimes friends go through phases that aren’t entirely positive. I’m sure you have found yourself in a place where you weren’t exuding energy, calmness or success.
Remember the friends that were there for you and be mindful that sometimes being there for each other for the bad stuff can be the most fulfilling thing we do. Compassion is an important first step to feng shui our relationships.
Step 2: Find your People~
To discover your “truth” simply gain more wisdom! Read books, try out a new hobby, enroll in a class, travel to a new place. There are endless ways to self discovery! By acknowledging an abundance of knowledge you can discover more of what you like. Getting to know more about yourself will put you in places you love allowing you to meet like-minded people!
Step 3: Declutter~
Tap into your intuition when it comes to making decisions on strengthening relationships, releasing negative friendships and reviving those that have gone stale. Ask yourself where all your energy is going. If you find you’re continuously depleted, you may have to consider letting go of some of the people in your daily life.
Focus your energy on strengthening the relationships that increase your overall health, success and encourage you to live with enthusiasm. When it comes to those friends you’ve known forever but leave you in energetic debt, it’s time for some “spring cleaning.” Sometimes when we’re honest about it, we find ourselves keeping friends out of guilt and putting energy into people who don’t give back.
Allow yourself to create space for new friendships to blossom. Just as energy in a Feng Shui can become stagnant so can relationships. If you feel in your heart a relationship is worth reviving reach out, be open, and put out the energy you want to come back to you. A friend should bring out the best in you and it should be your intention to do the same in return.
FUN FACT: placing the elements metal and water and the colors grey and white in the Northwest Bagua area of your home will attract beneficial people and new friends.

About Jennifer Nguyen: As a licensed stylist and wellness enthusiast of over a decade I’ve always had a passion for being physically active and exposing the light in others.

In 2010 I was chosen to attend the Michael Coles Step Up summit where my spirit was awoken to chase my dreams of becoming an educator and motivator! My successful career in the salon industry has lent itself to my most recent journey of earning a college degree; this fall I will graduate with an Associates of Arts degree from EFSC and have been accepted into my bachelors program at the University of Central Florida.
I have kept my deep love for movement alive over the years; In 2013 I was a performer for international DJ Chan Ji Kim in Sound and Space and more recently as a yoga guide at both Peace Place Counseling & Wellness and the Yoga Surf School.
These days when I’m not playing on my mat or balancing my duties as a domestic goddess I can be found in my back yard garden, and chasing the Florida sun.
