Are you afraid of darkness?
We spend half of our time in the outside world surrounded by darkness and all have at least one dark secret hidden deep within, yet most of us fear the night and our own inner demons. In the physical sense maintaining a natural rhythm of daylight exposure and darkness at night is essential to your overall health and well-being.
Exposing your own dark pieces is essential to transform them to light. Accepting the darkness leads to overall growth and healing on a spiritual level.
Are you getting enough darkness in your life?
If you’re anything like me you spent your childhood afraid of the dark, and maybe even still hold onto a little of that fear?
Whether or not you’re trying to avoid it as an adult it’s hard to get enough exposure in our world today. We literally light up the night so we can continue to work and dance into the morning hours.
Even when we are home cozy in our beds we’re most likely watching TV or scrolling through our iPhone (I confess I’m guilty at times!).
The problem with our modern world “sleep rituals” is that exposure to light in the late evenings tend to delay the phase of our internal clocks. We all have light sensitive cells in our eyes that set our sleep patterns by telling our brains whether it’s night or day. If our eyes detect light our brain will not produce the sleep chemical melatonin.
Sleep deprivation leads to a whole list of health problems and effects on our mental health causing things like depression, impaired creativity and curbing our ability to think clearly.
If you’re currently trying to attract good fortune into your life lack of sleep can interfere with your potential to gain insight, it can also cause you to vibrate on a lower frequency blocking your Law of Attraction powers!
The bottom line is if you want to improve your quality of sleep and perform as your highest self it’s essential you embrace the darkness!
Maybe even learn to love it (or at least take pleasure in it) a little?! Start by recreating your own sleep ritual, head to bed earlier, ditch the electronics and keep your room as dark as possible!

Are you afraid to bring your own darkness to light?
We all have secrets that we keep and chances are they keep you up at night, forcing you to face the truth that is you.
Miracles Now teaches us that “the corners that remain in darkness need to be brought to light so we can fully develop into the powerful beings we are meant to be.”
If you want to attract the life you want and truly be happy, you’re going to have to be fiercely honest! Maybe you’re ashamed of something that happened in the past, are holding resentment towards someone or need to address your addictions?
What are the secrets that you keep? Once you take the time to reflect, communicating your heart centered truth and the things you’ve been hiding is really painful and scary sh*t!
The simple act of putting your story in writing can start the healing process. Facing your darkest fears will free you from the shame, depression and internal stress of avoiding the truth. Go deep, expose all your heart, and help others who can resonate by sharing your story.
Healing is said to be an art that takes practice and a lot of love. Take all the time you need to forgive yourself, heal and feel whole and free. Facing the darkness from your past is essential to living an authentic and abundant life in your present!
