I used to be a pretty intense anger junkie, so I know the signs.  We all can get a little angry from time to time, but chronic anger is an indication that you have a low vibration, and it will result in unwanted manifestations in your personal life.

Chronic anger is simply negative reactivity gone amuck. Something bad happens, you react negatively, and your reaction causes more bad things to happen, which causes you to get angry again, and so on.  For some people, this cycle carries on their entire lives, which is unfortunate, because living life as an anger junkie is no way to live.

The good news is that you can break this cycle in one easy step. I’ll explain how at the end of the article.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself to determine if you are an anger junkie.  An anger junkie will engage in most of these actions very frequently.  You only would have chronic anger if these are standard behaviors for you.

Anger Junkie Sign #1:

Do you get road rage, pretty much every time you are driving?

Anger Junkie Sign #2:

Do you roll your eyes a lot?

Anger Junkie Sign #3:

Do you have a hard time controlling your swearing, and swear even in situations that you feel are inappropriate?

Anger Junkie Sign #4:

Do you have lots of little accidents, like stubbing your toe, dropping things that are valuable or fender benders?

Anger Junkie Sign #5:

Do you get into a lot of arguments?

Anger Junkie Sign #6:

Do the people you care about tip toe around you, so as not to “set you off?”

Anger Junkie Sign #7:

Do you often swear at people or call them names in your mind (like thinking “I can’t stand this b*****!” or “this guy is an idiot!”)

To be fair, these things probably happen to most of us at least some of the time, and that’s ok.  It’s alright to experience some anger.  It is a normal human emotion, and there’s no sense in feeling bad about it.   A little bit of anger here or there does not mean you are an anger junkie.

However, if you find that you can say yes to most of these questions most of the time, you might want to consider working on your reactivity, because then you, my friend, are unfortunately stuck in a lower vibrational frequency. Your chronic anger is causing you a great deal of distress, and it’s worsening your quality of life.

Luckily, anger management can actually be very simple.  All you have to do is react differently to displeasing circumstances just for a minute or so, and you will feel the anger subside.  Then, the angering circumstance will literally disappear.  With a little bit of consistent practice, you will start to find that you no longer react negatively, and even better, the things that have been bothering you stop happening so much.

To break the anger junkie cycle, the next time something negative happens and you feel your anger build, immediately focus on your breath.  Close your eyes if you can, and take a big, slow breath.    Focus your attention completely on your breath and keep breathing slowly until you completely calm down.

You will find that by taking the time to adjust your breathing in the heat of a negative situation, your vibration will automatically rise, and this will cause the thing that is bothering you to either stop what it’s doing, or disappear completely.

For example, if a car cuts you off on the road and you choose to do the breathing trick, you might find that the car suddenly gets out of your lane, gets off at the next exit, or the driver waves at you apologetically as if to say “I’m sorry.”

If it sounds like magic, it pretty much is.  But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work, so if you’re suffering from chronic anger, try it out!   What have you got to lose?

I learned about this trick several years ago and it totally changed my life.  Each time I felt myself start to get angry, I applied this technique.  Within less than a week of consistent practice, staying calm in upsetting circumstances became a habit for me.  Today, I rarely fly off the handle, which is huge because I used to be angry most of the time.  Life has gotten easier, and now I am attracting much more positive circumstances into my life.

So if you are suffering from  chronic anger, give it a shot!  If you can change how you react to negative circumstances, the circumstances around you will change.  It’s really this simple. You will raise your vibration, you will be happier, and you will start to attract happier events and situations into your life.
