Are You Frustrated With “Back and Forth” Manifesting?

Have you been experiencing the “one step forward, two steps back” phenomenon in your manifesting at all lately? Are you frustrated with it?

Have no fear, there is an explanation-and a way to overcome this phenomenon!

I mention this today because in the last few days I’ve become aware of this on more than one occasion. Both in a personal situation and in conversations with coaching clients, members and readers.

Whenever themes come up multiple times in my reality, I like to try and discuss them in the blog. So, here we go!

What is “Back and Forth” Manifesting?

“Back and forth” manifesting is super common, and occurs when we lack certainty on the direction we wish to take.

For example, let’s say that you have a crush on someone. However, there are things you aren’t really sure or certain about. You like them, but you aren’t 100% sure that a relationship is a good idea.

When this kind of energy is flowing from you, it’s highly likely you will encounter the following situation:

Step 1: You get wrapped up in the flirtation with the person, and then as soon as you get really interested they retreat and the flirtation stalls out.

Step 2: Then, you give up and retreat as well and get back to your life, and at this point they decide to come back and flirt with you again.

Step 3: Then, you get sucked back into the flirtation, and they retreat.

Step 4: Then, you decide to move on and they come back.

Step 5 to infinity: And on, and on, and on…

This is super, super, SUPER common folks, and it happens across all different kinds of manifestation attempts (financial, health, relationships, etc.).

So, how do you break the cycle?

You have to DECIDE.

Decide what you want. Do you want the person, or not? Do you want this new client, or not? Are you 100% in on your new career, or is it really not for you?

True decision is the tie breaker when it comes to back and forth manifestation. Decide what you really want, and let go of the side of the coin that leaves you feeling “less than.”

During this process it will help if you amplify all of the reasons you want your decision and simultaneously amplify all of the reasons you do not want the opposite decision.

Let’s revisit the flirtation example above to give some clarity on decision:

If you were to find yourself going back and forth with a possible love interest, ask yourself:

“Is this REALLY, TRULY the person I want?”

If the answer is yes, go all in. Remind yourself why you like this person and amplify your belief that this is a person who is good for you and who you want in your life.

If the answer is no, go the opposite way. Remind yourself of what you believe you really deserve from a relationship.

At the end of the day, back and forth manifestation really just means you haven’t yet gained enough clarity on what you really want. Get honest with yourself about what is important to you, and then place your focus on what really matters. You’re only going to manifest what you really focus on. This is why indecision manifests itself in a half in-half out kind of way.

If it’s your new career, and you want to keep it, remind yourself every day why you made the change.

If it’s your new health regimen and you really want to stick with it, remind yourself every day why you started it in the first place.

Perhaps it’s an old friend who you’ve decided to distance yourself from for personal reasons, remind yourself why it’s best you spend time apart.

Pick a route based on your best interests, and go all in.

Decision is the factor that will kill back and forth manifestation. Frustration is really just a result of our indecision, at the end of the day.

    This article is amazing. The situation with the crush is 1110% my situation right now. I backed away because I felt he did but it’s been almost two weeks and Im pretty certain it is over for now.

    I had high hopes for it, perhaps that’s how I even got so far with someone I went out of my way to meet. However the uncertainty of whether or not he had a boyfriend or even was interested in me still drove me away.

    I couldn’t decide if he was for me or not or if I was for him. It was a cycle of flirting and interest to pulling away.

    It’s crazy how amazing this article is because I know we’ve spoken in the past about how meditation and yoga sounds amazing but it isn’t really my thing however a friend asked me to go with her tomorrow and I said yes. I’ve just been confused about what it is I want next from life however I believe becoming direct, focused and achieve a sense of clarity will help me along greatly.

    Dear Andrea,

    in this case to decide what we really want , do we listen to the head or the heart. I mostly listen to my heart , sometimes

    that doesnt seem rational and practical. Any suggestions.

    I think feelings are the best gauge too. Just be honest with yourself: do you want this because it makes you feel GOOD or because you are avoiding trying to feel BAD? If you want it because it makes you feel good, go for it. If you’re clinging because it makes you worry about what you’ll lose, let it go <3

    I am loosing My focus on what i am doing, when I focus on what I want to attract!!

    Hi Flor:) Sometimes it’s more helpful to focus directly into the present moment to stay in the flow. I would keep the visualizations to daydreams, meditations and times where you can enjoy the reflection.
