How to Be a Zen Mom With Feng Shui: Conscious Parenting Tips

Happy Feng Shui Friday!  Would you like to learn how to be a Zen Mom?

At any moment you can take a deep breath and start over. As a Mom it’s easy to become absorbed in the guilt of making time to work on ourselves and the stress of our never ending to do lists. Regardless how hard we strive for excellence we are all a “work in progress.”

Recently I read this quote: “to live in the hearts of the people around you is to never die.” It really made me think about what a powerful influence we have on our children and the ways we can connect with our strength, love and compassion to be a more zenned-out Mom.

Step 1: Self-Care Sets the Foundation

While guilt is the #1 side effect of becoming a Mom the only thing we’re guilty of is not doing enough for ourselves! Eat well, stay hydrated, exercise daily and take down time. Yes you may have to get creative to fit it all on your list of “Mom stuff” but making health a priority will give you the Peace and Patience required to be a Zen Mom.

Step 2: Feng Shui With Your Kids

De-cluttering is one of the main principles of Feng Shui!  

Cleaning and organizing can become overwhelming and repetitive with kids, so owning minimal possessions and simplifying your cleaning routine is vital to your bliss! Teach them to be responsible for their own mess by giving them chores and involving them in clearing clutter. Have fun and set a timer each night and see how much you can get done as a family

Step 3: Go With the Flow

Know the importance of a daily chore list and structured schedule but learn from Feng Shui that life is easier when you’re in the flow. Stay organized but allow room for change, things come up, toddlers have meltdowns and what worked last week or even yesterday may not work out as planned today (it’s ok!!).
