Time for me to accept myself
“Time for me to accept myself” was written by guest contributor, Babajide Faseyi
I own all my mistakes. I have decided that I will not be ashamed of any single one of my mistakes. I have decided that I will not allow the shame of the things that I have done and I’m not proud of to hold me down anymore.
I want to be free. I don’t want the weight of anything to hold me down anymore. I don’t want the weight of the past, or of the future, or of the present to hold me down anymore.
I want to know myself. But I don’t just want to know myself; I also want to have the supreme confidence to be able to live as my true self.
I will not be afraid of any human. I will not allow any human to make me follow what they believe is the path for me, when I know in my heart that the path they want me to follow is not the right path for me.

It is time for me to go within myself and to completely accept all of myself. It is time for me to fully know that I am a divine creature, built with every part of me designed for a specific purpose. And even when I feel that what you tell me to do is the right thing for me to do, I will still go within myself and check with my true self first to see if what you are telling me is in agreement with my soul, before I go about doing it.
Blessings,
Babajide

About the Author: My name is Babajide Faseyi. I was born and raised in Nigeria and then moved to the United States for college at the age of 19. In my 20’s, I became acutely aware that there was more to life than I had been taught and this led me to a deep search. I read voraciously. After a period of disillusionment with not having an outlet for the creativity that I felt within myself, I encountered Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now. And thus, the journey of knowing who I truly am and the discovery of what I have to offer creatively began.
