How to Visualize and Manifest Your Dreams in 5 Steps
If you know about the Law of Attraction, you’ve likely heard that it is important to visualize your dreams in order to draw them closer to you. While this definitely true, it is important that we visualize properly in order to manifest. Improper visualization can actually push our dreams further away from us.
Here are a few tips on how to visualize your dreams effectively. Following these steps will help you use the Law of Attraction with success:
1. Be specific: In the initial stages of visualization, it’s best to identify as many aspects about this manifestation as you can. For example, if you want to attract a new car, take the time to figure out the exact model and all of the options that you would optimally want.
We’ve all had the experience of “almost” getting what we want, like getting the right car at the right price but in the wrong color. As you progress through these steps, the universe will start to bring you what you’ve been thinking about, and if you haven’t thought at all about a key detail, your dream might manifest without it.
Therefore, it is best to fully identify what you want so it manifests properly the first time, and you don’t have to go back to the drawing board after an “almost perfect” item has shown up in your reality.
2. Focus only on what’s wanted: When you are trying to visualize something to manifest (like maybe a new job), stick ONLY to the aspects that you want.
In other words, you wouldn’t want to be thinking during your visualization “I don’t want a lot of meetings” or “I don’t want a boss who’s a control freak.”
Thoughts like these will conjure an image in your mind of a lot of meetings or a controlling boss. Visions like these make it more likely that the universe will bring you a job that has these exact things that you do not want.
You get the things that you are thinking about, so in this scenario it would be better to say things like “I want a lot of time to work independently” or “I want a boss who is flexible and understanding.” Then, visualize working independently and having a flexible, understanding boss.
Manage your thoughts during your visualization to ensure that they focus only on the wanted.
3. Let the universe decide how it happens: Please make sure that you don’t spend any effort or time visualizing how your dream will manifest.
For example, let’s say that you want a 60 inch screen television. Do not make it part of your vision to imagine yourself going to the store and buying it.
The reason this is important is that the universe can deliver your dreams in an infinite number of ways. It may be easier and quicker for your dream to come in a way you’ve never considered.
Maybe you’ll win the television in a raffle your friend entered you in without your knowledge, or a coworker needs to move suddenly and simply gifts their brand new TV to you.
Stick only to the end outcome. It is your job to decide what you want, but it is the universe’s job to decide how to bring it to you.
4. Immerse yourself in the vision to feel like you have it: Once you have clearly identified exactly what you want, allow yourself to be totally immersed in the vision.
If it’s a dream vacation, do a google search and look at pictures on the internet of the destination, the airport you’d arrive in and the hotel you’d be staying at. If it’s a new cell phone, go to the mobile store and pick up the phone, look at it and play with it. If it isn’t something tangible, simply spend some time fantasizing about having it.
The goal here is to begin feeling like you already have what you want. Feeling as if you have your dream will bring you into the frequency of actually having it.
5. Let go: This is the most important step and the one most people get stuck on. After you’ve properly defined what you want and immersed yourself in the vision, you must let go in order for manifestation to occur!
Do not obsess over this visualization any more. You have done your job of visualizing exactly what you want, now you must send the universe a message that you expect for it to arrive.
Sitting down day after day to visualize sends a message that you are focused on not having what you want. Focusing on not having something creates a situation where it will continue not to come.
You’ve very likely had several experiences where you wanted something very badly for a long time and you just couldn’t seem to take your mind off of it. Finally one day you said “I give up on this! I’m ready to move on with my life!” and then WHAM! it manifested almost immediately.
Remind yourself of times like these to help you let go when you are working with your new dreams. Paradoxically, if you can make it ok for your dream not to come true, it will come true. Surrender your vision to the universe and then get back to living your life.
Again, to manifest your dream using the Law of Attraction, visualization is important, but you must take care to visualize in a way that draws your dream closer rather than pushes it away.
Please remember to be specific, focus on the wanted, let the universe decide the “hows,” immerse yourself in the feeling of having and (most importantly) let go when you have completed your visualization. If you can complete each of these steps you will be able to manifest your dreams quickly and easily!

Andrea, I have a small doubt regarding what you’ve mentioned in this article. You’ve written that we should visualize only once but many other authors have stated that we have to visualize twice a day and at least for one month. So what we should exactly do and why?
Andrea Schulman
Hi Sunny! I know I responded to your question on Facebook, but just wanted to post my response here in case anyone else was wondering! Thanks for your question 🙂
I’ve heard that too…though I generally disagree with it. While it may work for some people (and if that style works for you absolutely keep doing it!) with others it creates an obsession. Getting too hung up on a manifestation can lead to anxiety and stress about when it arrives which then pushes it away. I’m a big proponent in the “letting go” potion of the equation
sandra
letting go is so important <3
Michele
Andrea, i have read before that you should give your goal a deadline. How do you feel about this?
Andrea Schulman
Hi Michele 🙂 Yes I have heard the same! I think deadlines are great, as long we are free and easy about how we put them out there. As for me, I keep a running log of the goals I’d like to achieve on a Word document. When I write down a goal I try to be very specific about what I want and when I want it by….BUT I simply write them down and then go back about my business. Then, I just do what I feel called to do and let the universe direct me where I need to be. I avoid “checking my watch” and “keeping tabs” on my progress and tell myself it will be brought to me as it needs to be, and the universe can figure out the best way to process my request.
In other words, say it the way you want it to be, but avoid feeling shackled by the deadline. Like we were talking about earlier, obsession is a dream repellant, so while it’s perfectly fine and good to let the universe know when you want something, just avoid being insistent about it and worrying about when it is coming. Truly hand over the goal to the universe and have faith it can deliver what you want, when you want it:)
All the best 🙂 Andrea

I can visualise everything perfectly but then all of sudden negative thoughts like people snatching away my goals or other insecurities like that start haunting my mind .This has been quite irritating at times.I have been pushed farther away from my dreams because of these insecurities. Rather that focussing on my dreams I always start switching to things which are not relevant .I am fed up of my insecurities. Please suggest something.

Hello Anonymous!
Yes, I understand what you are saying. Sometimes negativity creeps in despite our desire to stay positive. What has helped me in times like this is, ironically, making it “ok” for my dreams not to manifest. When we make peace with the worst case scenario we can stop fearing it, and fear is what pushes our dreams away.
I’ve also written a few pieces on affirmations you might find useful that can help to make peace with negative thinking. The first one is best used when you feel in a particularly bad spot and it’s called “20 Examples of Self Talk You Can Use In Hard Times” (https://raiseyourvibrationtoday.com/2015/05/15/affirmations-to-surrender/).
The second one is better for smaller worries and concerns. It’s entitled “10 Affirmations to Surrender Your Problems to the Universe.” (https://raiseyourvibrationtoday.com/2015/05/15/affirmations-to-surrender/).
I’ve found that it’s useful to keep a few calming, “go to” phrases handy for when thoughts take a negative spiral. With time, affirmations like these can become engrained in our minds, making it easier to relax during stressful moments.
I hope you find these useful 🙂 All the best!

this is so incredibly bullshit. the way you ‘manifest abundance’ is by it already being your destiny, and earning it. this is a messed up and counter productive thing to teach. and i’m a mystic myself, i’m an astrologer, something tangible and real, provable, something that doesn’t promise false hope for money.
Hardi
I seriously resonated with that, nice one.

Hi Alex
I’m sorry you dislike the premise of this website. I have a different perspective, and my message is true to my beliefs and experiences. I wish you all the best.

Bhakti Gurav
Hi..
Can a mend my broken love relationship through this? I want to date again the same guy & marry him..Altgough i tried hard but he broke all the contacts with me
Andrea Schulman
Hi Bhakti
You can try, but I generally recommend people avoid attempting to manifest an ex, and instead work on manifesting a good relationship with anyone who is qualified. If this relationship hasn’t worked out as of yet, it is because there is something in your vibe that is pushing it away from you, and focusing on manifesting a relationship with this ex will likely only continue to activate whatever is pushing it away.
Your best bet is to let go of this relationship 100%, and turn your attention to manifesting a good relationship. Sometimes when we do this, the wanted ex relationship comes back into our lives, and sometimes instead we get a more ideal relationship in it’s place.
I hope this helps,
Andrea

Miranda
Hello,
Thank you for your useful information.
I would like to ask If it can work on another person’s health condition? Like let’s say me imagining myself with this person in a different shape? If someone is doing sports and me imagining myself with his fitter or taller version?
Andrea Schulman
Hi Miranda- the answer to your question is yes. However, the trick is in learning to see the other person as healthy, rather than in need of improvement. When we focus on another person from the vantage point that they are unhealthy and therefore need to become healthier, we actually reinforce their lack of health, because that is where our focus is.
For this person, take some time to notice what about them is ALREADY healthy as it is, and do your best to avert your awareness away from any aspects of this person that strike you as unhealthy. XO

Hey that’s all true and very clear I’m successful phylosopher and there its everything true thnx for ur great job dear .. many greetings from Albania

I have enough knowledge about law of attraction and visualisation… when reading article i feel good. I believe them . But when i using this law , doubts comes and not so much believe of this process. My mind say how is it possible. Then what shulod i do ?
Andrea Schulman
Hi Anonymous! Doubt and worry are a biproduct of misalignment. My best suggestion? Drop the subject altogether until you are back in alignment, and a magnet to the right kinds of thoughts and belief structures that will lead you to your goal!
I wrote an article on this phenomenon you might find useful. Here’s the link if you’d care to read it. XO
Jaya
Hi i wanna ask a question that we can never control the stars which are natural and we have born under that conditions.so how only visualization can give us exactly what we are wanting if it is not in the destiny
Andrea Schulman
Hi Jaya
I would say that we attract all circumstances of our lives (including the stars and their positioning). All outcomes are possible in an infinite universe, we simply align with what we choose to direct our focus toward.
Quantum mechanics has helped me come to this conclusion, if you are interested in learning more about the idea of “all possible outcomes.”

I have recently had a life long visualisation of my dream home manifest.
Not long after I said I give up on this dream and accepted either way what the universe in it’s wisdom wants for me.
It would be wonderful to hear some comments of other people who have successfully manifested their hearts desire and to discuss the psychology involved in communicating our desires to the infinite and abundant source.

Hi Tiernan<3 Here are some resources on my website regarding abundance if you are looking for tools to assist. https://raiseyourvibrationtoday.com/?s=wealth+abundance+money

this visualization method is great but if you know tratak(object gazing) then it is very easier

Hai andrea ,
If i want to manifest my dream i do daily meditation as like six phase meditation by vishen lakhiani (mind valley)
Since it has dream phase where we used to visualization as daily process
Now
1. How to ask to universe. We should not ask give give like that. Then how can we ask? How often we can ask? Because we do daily visualization.
2. As it is already manifested mind set then how can we ask to universe ? Or how can we let go to care of universe?
3. Let it go.. then how we ask daily and if we do let it go then how can we be in a state Already manifested?
4. If we do once let it go then we are almost using vision board or dream board ,then it is going to remember our thing what to be manifested.
5. We write daily gratitude along with future dream already achieved. There also we are going remember. How let it go works here?
Thankful for your briefing
Thank you thank you thank you

I would avoid digging into this “problem” as focusing on problems only begets more problems. However, here’s an article you may find helpful on improving the quality of your relationship. Visualizing and manifestation are two very important tools in achieving one’s dreams. Which also go hand in hand with the law of attraction. This wonderful steps are really nice. I love this article. Thanks so much. I sincerely invite you to my LoA project: http://dragonsmandala.com/

Great post! Point 3 was a hard one for me at first. I would visualize what I wanted then I would spend all my time trying to guess how it would happen. When I did that I found I couldn’t really attract what I wanted. When I learned to not “get in the way” and just leave the details to the universe then what I was visualizing would manifest in a way that I usually could never have anticipated. Another tool I recommend to help with visualization if you haven’t tried it, is Mind Movies, I heard about when reading Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural, I did an article on it if you want to check it out https://subconsciousservant.com/ , anyway thanks for the great post 🙂
